NL600 -- Trips

poker stars
6 handed
effective stack sizes $785

Villain is 27/20/4. Villain raises UTG to $24. Hero who is UTG+1 (runs around 22/18/3 calls with 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].

Flop ($57) 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
Villain checks. Hero bets $50. Villain mini-check-raises to $100. Hero?

What's my best line. Do I reraise or push over a safe turn bet?

Fold PF.

I'd just go ahead and repop him now, as played. You're not gonna get away from your hand, and he often has either a draw or an overpair that he won't get away from.

Calling is okay, but I'd rather just try to get the money in ASAP, before a scare card falls.

I would make it like $250-275

Would you still fold preflop if we were on the button?

I wouldn't call even on the button.

Villain is raising 20% preflop and probably cbetting every flop HU. You aren't getting the implied odds since his range is wide and you're not the aggressor.

I could understand if villain was a BIG nit or played terrible but his stats seem ok.

I dont hate preflop as long as its not standard. FWIW, I fold it like 90 percent of time.

I cant imagine him having air. He'd just cb the majority of the time. So likely he has an overpair or some sort of ok to great draw, or something beating you. Rr seems good v that range. Overpairs arent c/mr:ing to drop and you can charge the draws and hands that beat you well your [censored] whatever you do.

Isn't this exploitable?
