Bad Beat Jackpot

how many hands would it take one person to have quads 8s or better and lose? I was wondering. It has never happened to me and I have never seen it. What are the odds? Must be a couple of millions to one right? Help me out

My best educated guess was 1 in 500,000 hands based on the Absolute Poker promotion. For more info see

About 1 in 300,000 if everyone plays every hand. Since the majority of pairs, suited broadways, and suited connectors get played, 1 in 500,000 or a little bit more sounds right for real life.

Don't know the odds but I had my quad Q's beat by quad K's recently. Shame it didn't qualify for a Bad Beat Jackpot.
