I was cheering for Hawaii just to trainwreck the BCS

[/ QUOTE ]

how does this trainwreck the BCS?
how does this expose the BCS any worse than it would a playoff seeding system?

Meh, I think Hawaii deserves a BCS spot at this point. They beat 10-2 Boise, they beat a decent Washington team that was much better than their 4-8 record, and they did go 12-0. Remember, with 10 teams making the BCS, it's not exactly the cream of the crop.

From a who's the most talented team standpoint, they don't belong in the Top 12, but can you honestly say that LSU/Illinois is a more intriguing matchup than LSU/Hawaii? I'd rather see Hawaii in a BCS game than Illinois.

Plus, think about the easy money on LSU -24. Yum.

P.S. Yes, I'm in denial for now about LSU going to the BCS title game. We'll see the results of ESPN's politicking tomorrow.

Illinois is likely in the Rose Bowl anyway

HAHA where the haters?

[/ QUOTE ]

Way to barely beat a PAC-10 team with mediocre talent, the refs on your side, and a coach trying to give the game away! BCS here they come!

[/ QUOTE ]

As soon as I saw this thread started, I knew this was exactly what the type of posts that would happen should Hawaii win....so funny.

[/ QUOTE ]

because it's right... the game showed Hawai'i as a fraud

which has been shown numerous times

most people are incapable of watching and evaluating football though

they are too busy watching the pretty ball go around

[/ QUOTE ]

Personally I'm sick of having to look so deep into every [censored] game and trying to guess who is worthy of playing in the big bowl games, which is exactly why there needs to be a playoff. Hawaii is a perfect example.

If Hawaii is that good, they win in playoffs.

If Hawaii sucks, they get killed first round, discussion over.

I'm so sick of this guessing game [censored].

Clark,

With all the [censored] you were talking about Hawaii early in the game, I can only assume that you haven't followed the Huskies much this year. They have played impressively in the first half or first three quarters before, only to implode late in the game.

I still agree with you that Hawaii is not very good, but it might take a BCS team better than 8th in its conference to expose them.

[/ QUOTE ]

Well, this was a BCS team that is last in its conference and they pretty much DID expose them.

Anyone want to guess what the spread vs. Georgia/LSU will be? 20?

[/ QUOTE ]

Your words in the other thread were "pwned the heck out of the Rainbows".

You talk all this [censored] cutting down Hawaii and then when they win a tough game, you cut down the team they beat? That's about as hypocritical as it gets, man. Worst. Argument. Ever.

Post before the game or during the early stages:

I smell a butt kicking. Huskies have played some very good games against a slew of teams better than the Warriors.

as others have said UW was 2-7 in the Pac10, but they competed well all year, didn't get taken to the woodshed often

They were up on tOSU at halftime in week 3 as well IIRC

[/ QUOTE ]

[ QUOTE ]
I remember watching the UW-tOSU game and the announcers saying that one of the UW coaches said that Locker is faster than Vince Young. I laughed. Then the announcers were like "you know, he may be right." Then I started ROFL. Now, after that last scramble. I'm not laughing thinking about that.

Posts after the game:

I think the haters have their case more than proven. Hawaii belongs nowhere near a BCS game.

If they match up with a team that has some semblance of a defense, their bowl game won't be too close.

Note for the record that this was the LAST PLACE Pac10 team.

I would particularly like to point out ClarkNasty who is the one who said both the very first and very last comment I listed here. Which is it Clark?

Irrelevant since Illinois will be playing USC in Pasadena.

You never explained your reasoning behind thinking Hawai'i could cost them the Rose Bowl. You think the Rose Bowl would take UH?

Nothing inconsistent at all with what I said. I never said the Rainbows would go winless in the Pac10. It's pretty obvious though that if they played in any of the major conferences they'd be lucky to be .500.

Re: Official Washington exposes Hawai\'i the Fraud Thread

It was before austiger pointed out the BCS stipulation about selecting teams

since the Rose Bowl loses the #1 (Ohio State), they get first choice for at-larges.
However, they won't be able to choose a SEC team (which was not previously the case) when a SEC team ends up #2 and filling the other title spot.

Give the Rose a choice of Kansas or Illinois, guess which one they'll take.
