Plumber Question

My toilet is clogged. I've been trying hard to get it unclogged but can't and so I have to get a plumber to come check it out. I spoke to a plumber and he told me that he doesn't work on toilets that have feces in them and that if I want him to come I have to scoop the crap out of the toilet myself.

This seems insane to me. There is seriously a ton of crap in there ( the intial bowel movement that clogged it and an additional emergency poop from last night ) and I don't want to have to go buy gloves to scoop the crap with, nevermind figure out where and how to dispose of the crap.

I'm calling other plumbers, I just want to know if this is as unusual as I think it is.

Well if you do it, don't do it with your hands FFS. Get a cat litter scoop or something. And then dump it in a plastic bag.

This seems like a perfectly reasonable and hygenic requests to me.

He's a plumber, not some nurse who's job it is to clean your crap.

Yep, although I bet for the right price it wouldn't be to hard to find someone to clean it out before the plumber gets there.

Also adding the second "emergency dump" to the pile was a big mistake. Trash can would have been a better idea.

There's no excuse, as a man, for being unable to unclog a toilet that you yourself plugged up.

Go buy a [censored] pipe snake. Jesus.

what did you put in there? i've never been able to clog something where a plunger and time weren't enough to fix it. Even a really bad clog, if you let it marinate for 24hrs a plunger should handle it, unless you're flushing golf balls and rubber bands or something.

I hate myself for replying to this.

First of all, make sure you have a REAL toilet plunger. It has to have the flap that comes out and seals to the bottom of the toilet.
Get that and plunge the hell out of it for a bit. The water level should go down. Take a bucket or whatever and pour some water in. If it goes down immediately (like it does when you flush) you're good. If not, work at it some more.
Calling a plumber for a clogged toilet is like bringing a squirt gun to a gunsmith.
