who makes this turn call

30/60 cp I raise Th9h in MP, button calls, he's pretty passive and straightforward and sometimes plays good preflop and sometimes bad, not sure here. BB 3bets, he's a decent straightforward tag.

Flop J 9 4 w/ 2 clubs BB bets I raise button coldcalls BB 3 bets we both call. Turn 8 offsuit, BB bets I call button raises, BB grumbles and folds, how often does he have to have a set or two pair here for me to make this call?

Re: who makes this turn call

with openended alone and one back to us in a huge pot isn't it a standard call?

Re: who makes this turn call

unless you're saying he has the straight already and then it's do we have chop out odds? (weird phrase that)

You're getting like a million to one, which is almost enough of a price to stone dead. But you aren't drawing dead as the worst you can be doing is drawing to a chop.

Is this a trick post?

Re: who makes this turn call

Either the flop had to be Q94 or the turn be a 7 for this to make sense. Or you're telling us that he is going to have QT exactly an enormous amount of the time which is one of those live things that cannot be answered by people that haven't played with this guy and maybe couldn't even answer unless they were playing with him on this table the same day.

Re: who makes this turn call

yes he either has exactly QT or a set an enormous amount of time here and I'm sure he would 3bet JJ or 99 preflop. J9 and MAYBE 98 are possibilities but not that big.

Re: who makes this turn call

He needs to have QT about 50% of the time for you to fold.

good luck.

Re: who makes this turn call

If a seven hits the river the worst case is he is up against QT or if the seven is a club he might be against a flush.

Why is the worse case scenario a chop?

At the time he is drawing, the worst he is drawing to is a chop.

wtf vehn, how have you been posting since 02 and still don't use pokerstove:

Text results appended to pokerstove.txt

352 games 0.348 secs 1,011 games/sec

Board: Jc 9c 4s 8s
Dead:

equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 87.926% 86.65% 01.28% 305 4.50 { 44, QTs, J9s }
Hand 1: 12.074% 10.80% 01.28% 38 4.50 { Th9h }

So you have to call and its not particularly close. If you were to throw in QTo but not J8s then you still have a thin call.
