I\'m stupid and screwed this up #1

Hi, new to plo and terrible. What do I do here?

Hero is quite loose and somewhat aggressive (60/9/1.8). Haven't seen him do anything flat out insane or anything though, postflop.

His stack is $102 and I cover. On the turn he's got $82.

Pre-flop: (5 players) hero is SB with 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

What's my line here?

check/fold

Wouldnt this kind of player raise the flop with hands containing 56 a fair bit? I personally get my money in on this turn against this villain either by bet/calling or check/raising but I am probably terrible as well.

check or bet less on the flop.

You are now either ahead of an idiot who thought that his 8 was good, or pretty much killed

Check/fold, and yeah, no reason to pot it on the flop

I'm sort of confused. What kinds of flops should I be betting here with the AA. This board seems relatively dry, am I only betting when I hit? That seems weird. With regards to betting less, I kind of understand that, it's just not really part of my strategy at this point, but maybe this is a reason to start including it. How should I go about balancing pots size vs. non-pot size bets on the flop in smallish pots?

potting flop is fine.

checking now is ok i guess, but you open yourself up to get bluffed alot. what is villians turn agression like? you are 40/60 against 2 pair and have about 20% equity against 56xx. I don't think its an easy c/f here, I reevaluate depending on how much villain bets.

Don't listen to the nits. Potting the flop is solid. If you were deeper, you might have to check the turn, but you're short enough that you can just get it in pretty comfortably. Sometimes villain will have 52, sometimes he'll be floating with one pair, sometimes he'll fold two pair, and when he does get in with the best of it, you've got 9 to 18 outs.

I'll get really nitty here. I think a $15 bet accomplishes the same as a $18 bet. I vary my c-bet sizes from 2/3 - full pot based on a lot of factors. If OP does as well I think he should bet a little less on this flop. If his CB's are always full pot then pot away here as well.

With 50BB, get it in on the turn.
