heading to paris nov 8th-11th card room suggestions?
I am going to be in Paris on a layover and to break up my trip to Africa. I basically planning to play cards and I would love to have some suggestions on where to play. Cheap hotels? Softest games in France? I play most mixed games what games should I focus on in Paris? Any advice would be great.

The ACF is the 'Aviation Club de France'.
Did you see the sticky about 'Where to play poker in France' ? I listed most of the card rooms in Paris in it. |

thanks. yes I saw that. I have been reading that they play alot of courchevel which looks like a version of omaha except one community card is shown preflop. Another game mentioned was Avaition. Have you played Avaition? In the blog they also mentioned lowball. I suppose I should educated myself on how to play lowball. Sounds like a variant of Razz? any info you would like to add is greatly appreciated.

Re: heading to paris nov 8th-11th card room suggestions?
Nobody really plays Aviation anymore. Sometimes people play nullo, which is kinda like Razz except the best hand is 12346 (lowest hand wins, straights & flushes not allowed). Most popular games are Omaha, Omaha hi-lo, Omaha 5, Omaha 5 hi-lo, Courchevel and Courchevel hi-lo.
There are several card rooms in Paris, I would recommend checking out the ACF and also Cercle Haussmann near the Opera. All you need is an ID, and there's a dress code (shirts, no snickers). For more information about paris cardrooms you can also check out the Club Poker brick&mortar forum: http://www.clubpoker.net/forum/viewforum.php?f=2 Good luck! |
