I flat call pre, but I cannot come up w/ any reason other than "i'm not happy if I get 4-bet" which probably isn't a good enough reason.

[/ QUOTE ]

i can. cause he folds aq to a 3b in all likelihood.

I don't think 3-bet folding here is bad at all. 3-bet calling on the other hand....

i think betsizing is pretty important in this hand. that shove is almost always AK. i think AKs is a must call. AKo close i guess.

djk and Shaun:

3x the 3bet would be 1080, which is over half of Villain's stack of 2100. Are you guys saying you'd fold if Villain made it like 1100 or 1200 to go, putting in 60% of his stack, but are calling because he put in 100% rather than 60% of his stack?

against competent opponents that seems like suicide. If villain is a decent player and has his early position raise 3bet by an unknown early in a big field tournament. It really wouldnt surprise me to see villain 4bet shove AA or KK knowing that most randoms 3betting range in mtts is ridiculously tight

I fold this. Is he really pushing 50BB in this situation w/AQ? I don't think so

No one ever said he's pushing AQ. He doesn't have to be!

2100+ 360 +60=2520 in pot. have to call 2100-360=1740

2520/1740=1.44828 solve (100-x)/x=1.44828 for x get x=40.8451= % equity needed to breakeven cEVwise.

the basically worst case scenario imo is KK+,AK,50%QQ

which AKs has 41.213% equity against, AKo has 38%

so like i said AKs is a must call. AKo is close

in reality i think you have to discount at least AA. people just don't make huge shoves like that with AA that often.

if you discount both AA and QQ by 50%, AKs has 43.86% and AKo has 40.93%
