wtf msnl mods?

he's banned. that means no making a new account to get around the ban.

the only reasonable things you can do at this point are:

1) a) trash his new account
b) extend the ban on his main account to make the effective ban the length of the ban he was supposed to receive

2) discuss the situation with thee mod who banned his main account and come to some sort of agreement

Letting him create a new account during a temp ban and post whatever he wants is not cool. While I really like MSNL as a forum, this isn't exactly the first time you guys have been total asshats wrt modding (and in this exact manner).

Re: aejones

I just don't be the one doing the banning because he wiill likely see it as a case of bias.

Re: aejones

bias?

he's breaking the rules.

not only that, but if you will follow the order of what happened just in this particular case, it went:

1) does stupid [censored] in mttc
2) gets banned for 1 day by mttc mod
3) *instantly* makes a new account to say some other stupid crap in mttc
4) mttc mod permabans new account and lengthens ban on original acct to 1 week
5) very quickly makes a new account and starts posting in msnl openly as aejones
6) everyone in msnl rofls about it
7) a mod of msnl posts in the thread, knowing that it is aejones

correction:

big jim has also knowingly posted in one of his account's threads, so it's not just you x.

Re: aejones

In all fairness, this is the only time that it has been as blatant as this.

In previous instances, the offender did quite a bit of posting under the radar (under my radar, anyway) before making it ridiculously obvious.

I never saw anything about why he was banned, and didn't know he was banned until he posted saying that he was banned.

I'm happy to ban the new account/extend/repeat until original ban expires.

Re: aejones

So he circumvented his ban a second time?

God, I hate this guy. Can we ban him for a month?

citanul 03-30-2007 05:42 PM

Re: aejones

it would be entirely reasonable (and i would think sort of up to the mod who originally banned him) to lengthen the ban.

jim,

i believe it to be true that yves and dan bright both posted in msnl with the knowledge of the mods during their bans for periods of time before a more "public" roar was made about it amongst the mod community and the accounts were banned (possibly not even by msnl mods).

sorry if that doesn't form a sentence properly, playing right now, but i hope you get the point. if i'm mistaken please correct me.

This is correct, but there were also longer periods of time where they posted under the radar (giving advice, posting hands, etc), before I became aware of the situation.
