playing OOP on a dry flop with nothing

Often I'll raise in LP with a hand like A8 sooted or KJ off and get 3 bet from the CO or button. I call and miss on the flop then i just c/f the flop. Any thoughts on a way to get around this sometimes? should I through a c/r out and bet turn sometimes? should I donk the flop sometimes?

thanks

Unless you have a strong read on the opponents, it's usually best to play more straight-forward in those spots. If you're checking a lot in order to fold, just remember to check a lot when you flop a good hand so you can c/r. You might start seeing some free cards.

Paging game theorists.

(The answer is to come up with an optimal mixed strategy whereby you check or bet with a frequency which does not give your opponent any additional information about your hand range.)

Not after you get 3-bet.

This is vague, but it doesn't intrinsically matter that you were just 3-bet. If what you're trying to say is that this opponent may have exploitable tendencies after 3-betting (e.g., c-bets too much), then yeah you can come up with a more exploitive strategy. But if he's tough (close to optimal) here, then your only recourse is to mimic optimality yourself.

dont be afraid to four bet some of those hands once in awhile adds alot of deception to your game. four betting defines your hand to your opponent if the villain still is raising you after you four bet he will have you in bad shape more often than not.
