POG Poet Laureate FINALS - Aaron vs Bojtun! Vote NOW!

Ok, here are the final 2 poems for the POG Poet Laureate competition! Whomever wins (aaron or bojtun) will become POG's resident Poet Laureate, so we want LOTS AND LOTS of voting. Simply post which one you think should win. I want to get at least 27 poggers voting here, so please vote early and tell everyone else to come vote as well.

Here we go:

1:

Notice not the surrounding swirls of hate.
Joining their rage only hardens ones heart.
The search for joy must be your fate.
Attainment will let you rise apart
From the mob who toil and curse
Their lot and wish upon you worse.

Honest labor brings its own reward
Not in mere treasure or stamped gold
But like a song with a perfect chord
Rising to a crescendo bold.
The ache of mind or muscle brings
A delight not found in other things.

Find for yourself a burning passion
Ignoring those who follow only fashion.
A dream deferred is a dream that died.
A man lives not if he has not tried.
If you know you played it right and hard
You won’t bemoan the turn of a wrong card.

Strive as Sisyphus with rock against your shoulder.
Know, that happiness begins not at the top;
Rather at the bottom where the boulder
Must again be pushed up the unachievable outcrop.
Son I know you do not think I’m sage
But please take heed of what is on this page.

2:

Begone thy head
of the salacious demons
Vile, foul creatures of filth
Be shuffled unto the gallows
Be lynched I say! Be lynched!

For the bounds of good
you have trespassed
Stamping and stomping a putrid dance
of deceit, lies, happenstance

O, thy well be warned
forever an eternity of scorn
shall be yours

Twist in your web
A hoax is abound
Mine eyes know tis true
Be adrift now, run underground!

Who shall salt the arrow?
Who shall steady the bow?
For if not you and I, then who?
Who shall free BobO?

OK I admit I haven't been paying any attention to this contest for a good two months since I was eliminated.

Holy [censored] I couldn't come close to writing either of these.

Gotta vote for No. 1 because it's No. 1 LDO.

Both are excellent, agreed. But #1 seems forced and a little off at times.

And I'm really glad I didn't make it this far as I would have just gotten crushed this round.

Re: POG Poet Laureate FINALS - Vote Now! Choose the Winner!

#1 had more lines that rhymed, so it wins, right?

These are both really excellent by the way; I loved #1 more on first glance, but re-reading I saw how clever #2 was (I was initially put off by what seemed to be a forced BobO reference). Still, I love the language of #1 more, so, by a wolf's whisker:

vote #1
