Someone tell me why hands like this confuse me. Am I worried about J10 or an overpair here? I'm new to this table, and I have no reads on anyone. A preflop raise might have averted this silliness. 2x the pot seems to big to be a C-bet, but 2x the pot with AA-QQ or 2 pair or better seems a little excessive also. Hell, I give up.

I think AA-QQ are ruled out as villain probably would have reraised the minraise preflop.

I don't think we have the information we need to know where we are at. I'd say raise it up.

Any reads on this opponent?

it can't be a c-bet, as he wasn't the PFR. Likewise, it seems odd that he'd have just limped with QQ+. I'd lay it down anyhow though, because the odds just aren't there with only TPTK.

I would have probably re-raised the min raise pre flop, a decent re-raise should usually fold a lot of marginal hands and if you get called or re-raised again you'll have more information to work with.

As it stands its a difficult decision to put him on hands, with only $2 in the pot against a $4 bet I'm probably laying this down. Its a fold or re-raise decision as you gotta think its not good calling i.e what do you do if he bets another $10+ if a card like the 5h falls? I think thats why your better of re-raising the min raise pre-flop in the long term.

Dang - brain fart on the c-bet. I knew that, and I wasn't thinking that at the time. Don't know where that came from.

No reads, Vradi. I don't remember how many hands I'd been at the table, but it couldn't have been more than about 10. IIRC, I came in on the button and folded, nicked the BB on the next hand and this was probably the 4th hand.

Easy fold. You need a read to call this. Plus AJ is not a hand you want to play a big pot with while holding one pair.

I think a reraise preflop would have made this decision a lot easier.

You have a marginal hand in a big pot. You are definitely got a hand where I'd be thinking about my reverse implied odds and how my hand can improve. You also have to think about what the BB will do after you. Easy fold.
