$16 Stars: 10 10 pwning the bubble

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t400 (4 handed) Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

SB (t750)
Hero (t5730)
UTG (t4455)
Button (t2565)

Preflop: Hero is BB with Thttp://www.flopturnriver.com/phpBB2/...iles/spade.gif, Thttp://www.flopturnriver.com/phpBB2/...iles/heart.gif.
1 fold</font>, Button raises to t2565</font>, 2 folds</font>.

Button has been somewhere in the middle on terms of how active he is on the bubble. Id wanna say hes pushing something like A8s+, A10+, 55+, KQs. I figured his hand is at least decent, either that or he has a lot of balls firing into the big stack with a really small stack in play.

A) I can call, win, and easily take second and have a good chance at 1st

B) I can call, lose, have smallish-medium sized stack and still have a good chance of finishing itm

c) I can fold, and punish the bubble for a couple of more hands.

Whats my best option here?

immediately grab the nearest sledgehammer and hit my mouse with it to get the message across how emphatically i will be calling in this spot.

I don't think I could fold here but I agree with you that TT isn't crushing his range.

A) easily.

If the blinds are about to go up the very next hand and you decide to fold the TT, the stack sizes are a little more pwnable. If you're successful, you'll hopefully have &gt;8k. But if you call here and win you'll have pretty much ~8.5k, the bubble broken, and a shorty with &lt;2bbs that you can utilize for the money bubble.

I really think people are losing it sometimes with that "pwn bubble idea", your goal is to maximize ev, and here you have a great spot to do that.

Does this mean keeping people in the game to keep the bubble going? - so you can steal blinds easier when they tighten up? Mostly, I just want to see people disappear.

I'd pick A. but even if you call and lose you can still win - not just ITM.

im not really sure what i was thinking last night that made me play this like i did. has anyone ever reviewed a session and thought to yourself, why the hell did you do that? yeah this is one of those moments.

yeah, thats happening all the time. i think it is also something one has to get used to that one doesnt play one's a game all the time.
this hand may not even be that bad if the other players were really weak and you could almost risklessly steal your way to victory. the worse the players are the bigger your edge has to be in a risky situation in tournaments.

Only time you should comtemplate doing folds like this, is if there's great reason to believe you can gain more in the next hands than making the call, this situation is way too marginal for that but say if the shorty is a total nit and pushes for 1.1bb from sb the others have like 5bb each allowing you to shove blind atleast 3 hands in a row with tight ranges.
