NL5 Standard w/ no reads?

Poker Stars, $0.02/$0.05 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 4 Players
LegoPoker Hand History Converter

BTN: $3.88
SB: $12.90
Hero (BB): $12.27
UTG: $7.65

Pre-Flop: 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] dealt to Hero (BB)
UTG calls $0.05, BTN folds, SB calls $0.03, Hero raises to $0.25, UTG calls $0.20, SB folds

Flop: ($0.55) 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 Players)
Hero bets $0.35, UTG raises to $1, Hero folds

Results: $1.25 Pot ($0.05 Rake)
UTG mucked and WON $1.20 (+$0.60 NET)

I'm not sure what is the right play here...bet/fold or check-raise? Again, no reads.

Also, do you raise preflop?

looks good to me. raise preflop for value, cbet, fold to raise. sometimes they're semibluffing you, most often they're not, and even if they are, it sucks playing this out of position on turn/river after getting raised on the flop. imo

Does any1 think that betting this small is giving away a tell. Because if I have a strong hand I'm probably betting close to pot to protect/get value out of it. probably someone is going to pick up on this. Is it okay if I start to bet .45 or .50 in these spots for now on?

As long as your c-bets aren't based on your hole cards you're fine. I bet a little less than 3/4 pot on a flop like this with 56dd and AQ alike, but if your standard c-bet with a strong hand is near-potting it, you have to near-pot it with a weaker hand as well.

Ok. So what are the pros and cons of going with a bet close to pot everytime and only bet 1/2 pot on these flops?

For instance, I usually bet pot on drawy boards and about 3/4 pot on dry boards like this one was. And I guess others usually bet 1/2 pot w/ dry boards and usually never full pot on drawy boards.

Can you go all the way up through the limits w/ using just one of the strategies?
