Spewing in the $100r?
I felt like having a shot at the $100r and this was a pivotal hand for me, utg+1 is a known aggressive player who is effectively shoving. MP1 is unknown to me, but I figured he could be isolating with quite a few hands. OBV utg+1 is calling for his last 800 and that makes it almost exactly 2-1 for me to call, thoughts?

Re: Spewing in the $100r?
its been like a year and a half since i've played the 100r
when i played, i'd have folded. but i'm sure the game is a ton more aggressive now. i probably still fold tho |
Re: Spewing in the $100r?
After the hand I was thinking AQ+ and 99+ is probably a call, what would you call with?
|
Re: Spewing in the $100r?
I'd call w/AK, JJ+.

Re: Spewing in the $100r?
I think AJ is fine here.
UTG+1 has an insanely wide range MP1, if a good player, will isolate with a range that AJ does fine against |

Re: Spewing in the $100r?
I think people habitually play too loose in these spots.
I'd fold without thinking twice about it. I think like AQ, 99+ or something. Maybe TT+. I'm sure you realize but your range should be tighter and tighter the further you are from closing the action. |
Re: Spewing in the $100r?
Should we be suspicious that UTG+1 is raising instead of shoving? At the lower stakes I find this usually means AA/KK/AK
|
Re: Spewing in the $100r?
seems like this is a simple fold pf. calling off a third of your stack after that action with AJ is too spewy, so often you're dominated here

Re: Spewing in the $100r?
fold 100% of the time
goggles is absolutely right. and the fact you were the final action makes a stronger case for folding a weak hand like AJ w/ that action... |

Re: Spewing in the $100r?
this hand is very player dependent and without a read on middle position it is hard to make the correct choice here. Since he is unknown to you, then I probably fold preflop if you have seen him fold for a few rounds in a row. IT is still a close call though and I am probably overshoving.

Re: Spewing in the $100r?
calling over a 1/3 of your stack in a 3-way pot with a hand like AJ is not the thing to do.

Re: Spewing in the $100r?
its obv u crush utg's range but whats mp1's range or rather what should mp1's range be? a 10+ kq,55+? like 43% vs that range.
|
Re: Spewing in the $100r?
there was a early allin (regardless if he is loose or not) and the MP1 player reshoved, so you gotta assume you are probably crushed at the very least by the MP1 (JJ+ AK) - with him shoving to isolate you gotta give him credit for a solid range.
Now if it walked around to you then you have points for calling the UTG allin, given that he is shoving consistently w/ a wide range. and what I meant by last action is you have seen all of the above happen in front of you, and in that situation AJ should be an easy fold. It isn't that strong of a hand. and putting in a 1/3 of your stack and being easily dominated is bad no matter how you look at it. Wait for a better spot, you had a decent stack. I mean you may of won in this situation, but still... |

[/ QUOTE ]I think that's a reasonable range for him and I was getting 2-1, how much equity do I lose if I am 60-65% vs the shorter stack's range? I don't know the math on that... [ QUOTE ] and putting in a 1/3 of your stack and being easily dominated is bad no matter how you look at it. Wait for a better spot, you had a decent stack. [/ QUOTE ] I'm just looking for +ev. I am willing to play the stack preservation game a bit in other spots where I have a bigger advantage over the field, sometimes. |
