16$ : Push with 44
SNGWiz say it's a push with 88+ here.
I don't understand "intuitively" why. And with blind 200/400 it's a push with 77+. I have a lot of FE, haven't I ? Re: 16$ : Push with 44
FE here depends on MP and what his limping range is I guess. If he's been limp folding a lot than I would certainly push over the top and take down 3.5 bb already in pot. otherwise i'd fold.

Re: 16$ : Push with 44
I like it more if you were on BB. Here, it's close.

Re: 16$ : Push with 44
As described in Colin Moshman's book: Find out who the "High-Blind-Limpers" are and make moves like this against them, if you have seen him folding alot to raises.
Otherwise easy fold. |
Re: 16$ : Push with 44
if hes limping weakly a lot, do it up. if hes not, fold.

Re: 16$ : Push with 44
I'm almost done with Moshman and I am not sure he really recommends pushing 10+ BB over a HBL without a solid read. In other words, make sure the HBL is really an HBL.
You can also cut the last half of your HH off - not relevant to your decision, really, that the flop came low (didn't hit AK/AQ/KQ) and that you didn't improve. I think he calls a ton with hands that beat you and there's no real reason to go to war with a low PP at this time. I like this a ton if he folds, though. |
Re: 16$ : Push with 44
Most people who limp like this are retarded, and then a push is usually correct. Kinda opponent related tho.

Re: 16$ : Push with 44
easy fold.
I openpush 77 here so i wont push a limper with worse than 77 either. |
Re: 16$ : Push with 44
vs some limpers, there is EXTRA value in shoving behind their limps, or at least, I'm pretty damn convinced there is.
Also, 77+ seems awfully tight. |
Re: 16$ : Push with 44
This is an automatic fold for me, also if I've seen him limping before. It might be an ok push with a very strong read though, but you have that very seldom. I like the 77+ range, maybe even tighter. Patience is important, and you have more than 10 BB's.

Re: 16$ : Push with 44
Without checking SNGPT...what kind of ranges is 66 not profitable to push against?
I don't care about patience - if I see value, I grab it. |
Re: 16$ : Push with 44
guys this is a really easy shove if hes just limp/folding all the time, but if hes not 44 does not have enough value to play for stacks when getting limp/called wide, your stack is still in great shape and im in no hurry to flip for stacks all the time in this spot if i fear thats what happens with this guy. 66/77+ seems about right otherwise.

[/ QUOTE ] SNGPT won't do calculations with a limper i front. I WIZ'ed it though, and found that if limper limps 40%, but only calls your push with 88+, AQo+, AJs+, and SB and BB calls with AQ+, 99+, it's only + 0,27 %. Widen the limpers' overcall range some, and you are quicly getting it - EV. The above ranges are pretty tight imo. |
Re: 16$ : Push with 44
aghasax: I was under the impression the 77+ talk was concering no limper.

Re: 16$ : Push with 44
I fold pre w/o thinking twice.
|
Re: 16$ : Push with 44
I need to start thinking twice because I have a bad habit of pushing in these spots and getting called by KT. It's a rule of poker that donkeys who call with overcards will always flop one or other against me, regardless that they were behind preflop.
