This is why you don't raise A8o UTG let alone play it all. Fold, you're behind probably 90% of the time.

I would call and start up another tourny. An almost exact same situation happened to me a few months back with the only differences being the positions at the table. When I called, I fully expected to be starting up another tourny, but just couldn't find a reason why a better hand than mine would make this play, so I called. The donkey had K6o and I doubled up.

I totally diagree. So many rebuy players don't change gears and will do this with crap. I would fully expect to see an Ax or even Kx. I completely disregard his hand as being AK or KK. KK being more likely, since he might fear being outboated on a later street, but AK is not going to discourage action. If villain has Ax and x is larger than 8, you still have a good chance that you will be splitting pot. I think worst case scenario here would be a coin flip with villain having somthing like JT of clubs and having 12 outs to his flush and gutshot.

Im thinking he has a weak ace or a K here....who wouldn't try to get more money out of their hand here if he did have the nuts- allin with 30k seems crazy- unless he's one step ahead of u.

But your raise PF sucks. Sorry.

I agree, preflop sucks. UTG, yuck. LP, fine.

I don't think many people bet 10 times the pot when they want a call. I call and expect to see Kx, a lower pair, or a flush draw.

I agree that you shouldn't raise preflop here from that position.

And don't fold postflop unless you have a real good read on the raiser. I think the general high donkey factor in the $3 rebuy mandates a call without a read.
