Blind stealing in PLO

I was playing at a table the other evening and someone actually posed a semi interesting question - is blind stealing easier in PLO than NLHE?? and is it more important??

my own opinion was stealing is easier in PLO as due to the nature of pot limit poker, the blinds cant negate their postional disadvantage by shoving all in, but he made a counter argument that it was harder as the hand values in PLO are closer (which i actually feel works both ways, especially if you can peg a repot from the blinds as a narrow range, AAxx etc)

due to the relative pre flop values being much closer i will happy raise with trash hand in PLO when opening in late position, but am much less inclined to do so in NLHE - is this a possible leak, both in NLHE and PLO??

opinions?

Well I play $50PLO and people never fold to me in the blinds, which actually works in my favor because I don't raise to steal in the first place.

WTF is raise to steal anyway? Who does that except in tourneys?

I think raising is more valid to get position on blinds in a bloated pot, not stealing blinds.

for me whatever you choose to call 'stealing blinds' your ultimate goal is to win the hand by using your positional advantage rather than the cards you are holding. whether this is achieved pre or post flop i would say is irrelevant

I think Blopp's point is mostly right, in that late position opens with weaker hands in PLO do not serve the same purpose as they do in NL; in NL your main motivation is that quite often you'll pick up a small pot for free, whereas in PLO your main motivation is that you'll be able to play a raised pot in position, which will generally be a good source of value.
