[ QUOTE ]
Surf, These are the dudes you should be making fun of, not the people in this thread: [ QUOTE ] Hello, I'm located in Australia, my wife is in Thailand. We've been married for 1 month. We've been together since February 2005. Our relationship has been over the internet apart from when i visited her in Thailand for about 9 days in June 2005 and about a month from January 15th to February 15th 2007 (we married in the first week, about 20th January 2007). I am now back in Australia. I would like to bring her to Australia. Is the possibility of her getting here on a tourist visa likely even though she doesn't have a current job? If she got the tourist visa she would then apply for the spouse visa when she's here. I just don't think there's any likelyhood of the person viewing an application for a spouse visa seeing our marriage as being genuine enough due to the short period of marriage and because we don't live together. Any thoughts are appreciated, I've tried to provide as much information as possible, let me know if you need more information. Cheers. [/ QUOTE ] [/ QUOTE ] LOL |
Re: Ask Degen Anything About Living In Thailand
you should not underestimate the number of western men in this situation, and who genuinely believe in the sanctity of their marriages like this.

[ QUOTE ] I love you 2+2. You took me from being a huge losing player and turned me into a professional. You have given me a vast network of talented, honest and entrepreneurial people with which to collaborate on business projects. You have made it possible for me to become friends with some amazing people. I would like to be a part of the community again. I've learned that the methods I took in the past in dealing with those I disagreed with were not good for me, or for my business. Since I haven't been allowed to post, none of those issues have come up. I was my own worst enemy in many ways. I've learned from that. It wont happen again. I've also learned that its much more valuable to make friends and not enemies. Many of the problems I had were due to the fact that I chose to needle many of the mods along the way, simply because they were mods, really. I don't like authority. Thats a bit part of the reason I'm my own boss. But that isn't productive or professional. That also wont happen again. I would sincerely like to rejoin the community and be allowed to post on 2+2. I'm hoping that possibly some readers of this blog can help me out with this. The only voice the admins of the site hear is that of the mods who hate me....and man they hate me with a passion. But I'm certain there are those out there who don't feel that way. If you could take a couple moments out of your day and PM Matt Sklansky on 2+2 and let him know....that would be awesome. Or possibly somebody could make a post in my defense in the About The Forums Forum on 2+2, asking for them to unban me. I sure would love to be able to post in my Thailand thread again. Its over 2,000 posts long now and has been going for over a year! Even though I haven't been on 2+2 in months! Pretty amazing I think. So many 2+2ers living in Thailand now, because of that thread. And the fact cookie made out with 5 different girls just to finish with a non-ladyboy total psycho, who woke up the whole building, threw a shoes to one of the girl face and slapped jappe... ( also picked up a fight with a random guy living here ). And the fact that rewket and jappe were aiming for the same girl ( well she was aiming for both actually ), she french kissed just about every guy in the car. Oh yeah the car, can you guys tell me why we were 8 people in a random girl's car, radio blasting heavy metal and everybody making out with everyone orgy style? Degen,
probably the best thread ever posted on 2p2. tons of useful information, pics, stories, and realistic accounts of everyday life in Thailand. a couple of questions: give me a bar/club type situation where you say "it's ver easy to pick up women"...are the girls simply flattered by American men, extrememly desperate, or do they think they have a chance to make money for the sexytime? exactly how easy is it to bring a home a decent, good-looking thai chick that's not a total whore? |

I don't know any single thai man either. everyone gets laid all the time. besides the backpackers obv. exactly how easy is it to bring a home a decent, good-looking thai chick that's not a total whore? Extremely easy, unless your aiming for a upper-upper class girl, then it's extremely hard. Latest 3 chicks i took home for a ride: store employee, student nurse, student nurse. Does anyone kwow if NoiQpoker is working in Thailand? Or some other iPoker site. I didn't find anything using search feature.
Thanks! |
Re: Ask Degen Anything About Living In Thailand
Well NoiQpoker is working on and off. Ofdabeat plays there, but it is bit stage. Some days it's works in the morning for some hours, then it wont connect and then it works again in the evening.
But fulltiltpoker is stable here, as well of a few other sites, so you're able to get some reliable sites here. |

[ QUOTE ]
If you are outside of the USA for at least 330 days in any given tax year then your first 80k is 100% tax free. There are certain limitations to this law though so you should read up on the specifics. 'Self employment income' is not covered by this break. Im not sure if poker winnings falls under this category so if it doesnt then you should be home free. The tax break alone is more then enough reason to live in Thailand if you are making more then 80k playing. Additionally, under certain circumstances you can deduct your housing costs among other things. So if you make more then 80k you could still take some nice deductions off the rest. (My uncle is a CPA and did my taxes and I paid almost nothing while living in Thailand for 2+ years) [/ QUOTE ] I think you have to be working legally in Thailand to file for that exclusion. It is technically illegal to work under a tourist visa not to mention illegal to gamble in Thailand so I think you can only exclude foreign income if you had a work permit in Thailand. (not easy to obtain) |
Re: Ask Degen Anything About Living In Thailand
The US government is not going to check to see if you were working legally in Thailand, and the Thai govt will never know that you were working, so why bother trying to get a work permit?
|
Re: Ask Degen Anything About Living In Thailand
You French guys should come to Vientiane since we have French-speaking bargirls here. This might be a better place to surrender your money.

Re: Ask Degen Anything About Living In Thailand
wowowowowow
did you say you live in a house that costs 7$ a night? |
Re: Ask Degen Anything About Living In Thailand
Yeah, I have a room with air conditioning, a private bathroom, and cable TV. I was going to get a house/apartment a month ago but then I got mugged and only just got my credit card replacements. It won't really be worth it now because the costs of getting broadband are pretty high. If I come back to Laos after my 2-4 weeks in the US for Christmas, I'm going to get a nice house with a good internet connection.
Apparently there's a hostel here that costs $1/night. |
