Preferred Online Brokerages?

I was considering Zecco, as it seemed like a decent choice for the casual, 10-20k type of individual that would like to try his hand at doing the HW and then trying to apply decisions based on that.

Could any of the people here who day or swing trade shed some more light on this area?

Also found this article, http://articles.moneycentral.msn.com...neBrokers.aspx
.... dated from last year, if there is something better to reference please feel free to post it.

Thanks!

Not sure why you're considering Zecco when they're not listed in the top ten.

Here is a more recent ranking by Smart Money. I guess it depends on what's important to you.

No complaints with Ameritrade and E-Trade..........both offering good promos for opening accounts currently.

However, the stock market may not be the place to park money right now unless you are planning on parking it there for 6+ years.
