bike accomodations

tried to do a search, but couldn't find anything, or i'm just a retard.

what's the motels by the bike like? i'm assuming that it's fairly sketchy around the bike, as it seems it is by all the casinos.

any fairly inexpensive but safe and clean motels i should note?

Better to stay at the Crowne Plaza at Commerce and drive if you must go to the Bike. The games are crazy good at Commerce, with more selection and choices than at the Bike. If you are going to drive (which I would suggest), you can also visit HP and Hustler to get a feel for other spots.

This hotel is across the street. It used to be a Ramada, but I'm not sure if it's still flagged Ramada...

Bell Gardens Hotel

If you're just looking for a place to sleep and shower, it's fine. As for the area, Bell Gardens isn't a resort town, but if you're there to play poker, it's fine.

As for other low limit games, this chart lists the So Cal action. It's current within the last couple of weeks.

Info on LA Card rooms

As BDub1 said, the Crowne Plaza at the Commerce is a good alternative. It'll be pricier, tho.

There's a Ramada Limited across the street. It's ok enough for a single male degenerate poker player. I've never been bothered walking to it even at 4am. Don't bring your honey and don't expect luxury. Be sure to get a room on the other side from the Mexican nightclub. If you want better call the Bike's concierge desk for other places that'll give you a poker rate.

Edit: I haven't been there for a while and see that I'm out of date. Sorry.

Commerce and the Bike are close to each other. You are correct, if you are playng low limits Commerce is straigh up retarted. Play at the Bike for 1/2, and 2/5. Even 5/10.
Who wants to be capped at a $400 buyin at Commerce.

Re: bike accomodations

Just heard back from my friends at the Bike. Half of the rooms at that hotel I referenced above have been remodeled within the last year. Ask for one of the remodeled rooms.

Again, as for the area, it's improved significantly over that last ten years. You're fine walking from the hotel to the casino; it's across the street.

I have stayed at the Ramada limited, and it was fine. Not fancy, but not crappy, standard medium range hotel. I have never heard of them having a poker rate though, as far as I know they are not affiliated with the Bicycle club.
