For those of you who like strategy board games, and those of you who think you might like them, check out Brettspielwelt.

It's German, but you can use an online translator if you need to. Just download the client and you're good to go. To change the language of the client to english, find the brettspielwelt.prop file in the install directory, open it in notepad, and change the nation parameter from DE to EN.

Online you'll be able to play games like Puerto Rico, Caylus, Settlers of Catan, Power Grid, and many others for free. Hopefully we can get some 2+2 games going (I'm a big fan of Caylus).

The server is German, but most of the people there speak English (and are probably American). The games are great and the people are really friendly.

My uncle is German and my 10 year old cousin has been brought up bilingual and more or less bicultural. They have a collection of these German board games. I've enjoyed games of all sorts as long as I can remember, so we have to arrange some time for me to come over and spend a night playing them. Should I get some practice here first? Where should I start?

Thurn Und Taxis usually does. Did I mention it is awesome? Carcassone and Siedler are good too, but they are not awesome like Thurn Und Taxis.

Set up a game time and I'll play. I don't know the rules though I'd be happy to learn. Caylus kicks ass and I would be happy to take a few people through a game. It usually takes about 90m to play once everyone's on the same page.

I've played on Brett handful of times over last few years.. very fun site.

Bump.

I've been playing Caylus on here a lot recently. If any 2+2ers want to get a game going let me know. I play mostly in the evening, around 7-10 CDT.
