Any reads?

You are getting 12:1 to call.

If we assume he has trips, you have ~4 outs (2 Jacks + backdoor flush draw + backdoor straight draw).

I cannot see folding the flop for one more small bet. This should be an autocall.

The turn card would dictate any further action, and again, reads help in determining if this type of player would aggressively play a hand like A7, 88, 99, 89, or a flush draw this way.

Call flop and re-evaluate turn.

This is very villain dependant. Some will go ape like this with a flushdraw or OESD or a combination of the two. Some will do this with 88, 99, a 7, or nada hopping to make you think they have trips. Some will only do this with trips or 77 for a fully, and some would slowplay the over pair and go ape on a flop like this.

Against an unknown I think I call down from the flop 3bet unless the board gets really ugly. Either that or I would cap the flop and fold if he keeps it up on the turn. Not sure which I like better. One is cheaper and the other gets a read and may take the pot.

This is almost never trips.

Capping is standard, but I like to smooth-call and raise a good turn card against players I have better reads on.

I call down. It's often not trips, but I hate the idea of calling and raising the turn unless you're going to fold to a 3-bet, but then if you're going to fold to a 3-bet, you're often better off calling twice instead of raising.

I'd probably end up calling here, and raising a complete blank on the turn(including any of your straightening cards), fold to a 3bet.

Aaron, if we raise the turn while ahead here and can fold to a 3-bet aren't we coming out ahead in the long run? Getting an extra bet when we're ahead and losing the same amount if we're behind by just calling down, either way we find out if we're beat no?

Occasionally someone will overplay his hand and make you fold the winner, which is a disaster, especially if he was going to bluff the river anyway.

Because nobody donk/treys trips at this limit. I may have gone a little overboard by saying it's "almost never" trips, but this is 7x more than it's Tx. Also, this board is draw-heavy, and some goobers like pumping the hell out of them in blind defense.

admittedly ive never actually played .25/.50, but it seems to me that so many players now have read a little and want to be all 'real men dont slowplay' and just fire fire fire with trips.

i would say he has a T at least 50% of the time.
