Why does 2+2 tank every night at 0115 PST?

The title says it all. Surfing at 2+2 becomes almost impossible because pages are very slow or won't load at all. Quite a few posts I've composed never see the light of day because they timeout.

I know it's not me because the rest of the web always looks fine.

As far as I know, it's a result of the daily automatic backup.
