2 Pair against LAG 1/2 Live
Hustler 100 buy in 1/2 blinds
Hero is in UTG+1 with KJo Relevant stacks: Hero is deepest with $400. Villain in BB is about $350. Everyone else in about $100. Reads: Villain has been bluffing ALOT. And making some retarded plays. He's a really ANNOYING LAG - I really wish he'd shut the [censored] up. Hero is in UTG+1 with K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] UTG limps, hero limps, a couple more limpers, Villain raises 4 more, UTG calls, hero calls, all call. POT: About $20 FLOP: A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] SB checks, BB bets 4, UTG folds, Hero raises to 12, all fold to BB who raises to 40. Pot: About $100 Hero *calls* (in retrospect I may have folded here I think, but I have a difficult time reading this type of player.) TURN: 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] BB Pushes all in. Hero?? Pot: about $350 AB |
Re: 2 Pair against LAG 1/2 Live
Fold preflop, flop raise size is horrible, and I have no idea what to do on the turn, because it seems he could have literally any two cards. Don't let him put you in this situation. And if he's really this annoying (that's probably part of his game), just try to get a table change. Don't play his game.

Re: 2 Pair against LAG 1/2 Live
More importantly, has he been getting out of line for big bets, or just the smaller ones?

Re: 2 Pair against LAG 1/2 Live
Out of line, pushing ALOT - about 50% bluffs at least.
And as for the flop - the pot size might have been more like $15 not $20. Should I have raised the pot do you think? At this table, everyone had been giving me a wide berth (as it typical) - not getting much value - though certainly bet sizes are my weakest point perhaps. AB |
Re: 2 Pair against LAG 1/2 Live
If he's been way out of line then this is a snap call. But if he hasn't been out of line against you, and you've been playing tight (although KJo in MP, not so tight), he could just be setting you up.
Pot size = $6 x # of players, so if there were 4 to the flop, pot is more like $24+. I'd raise to at least $20 on the flop. |
Re: 2 Pair against LAG 1/2 Live
I'm actually thinking that he minraised PF to 4 total, so the pot was smaller than $20.
He was way out of line, but in retrospect, not out of line specifically against me - maybe once or twice - My read was that he had AQ or a naked ace. Your comment regarding "setting me up" likely has much truth to it. Yea, I HAVE been playing very tight, especially post flop. Yes I recognize that KJo is a little loose PF, but it still makes me the tightest player at this table. By far. AB |
