I love Commerce Casino

Thursday night $20-40 LHE

Two players break out in an argument about whether or not a floorman should be summoned to rule on a matter. It culminates in one very steamed player cashing out and hovering over the table long enough to say "go eff yourself".

I cash out +$356

Friday night $9-18 LHE

I run well and my table breaks. I am seated 2 to the right of a miserable human being who angle shoots like mad and claims to be the cousin of Phil Ivey. I hate playing with this guy because I can't drink due to his angle shooting and the need to constantly watch every movement he makes. Anyway, friendly Philipino guy is between us and those two are chatting away like mad. After getting pummelled into submission by moi, angle shooter changes tables and now Philipino guy starts talking it up with me. He's drinking a little, but I don't think he is drunk, I think he is just a chatty type person. After another half hour or so this Korean guy sits down to my left. After one hand, he tells the Philipino guy that he should not talk any more. Philipino guy looks bewieldered and keeps yakking away. Korean guy tells him to shut up. Phillipino guy again keeps talking and starts doing a Kreskin and calling out cards before they are dealt. He gets a few right and I jokingly call for a table change. Korean guy gets real angry, tells the Phillipino guy to shut up about ten times. At this point the Phillipino guy and I bust up laughing. The Korean guy grumpily says "no laughing either".

I cash out +$756.

Saturday night $9-18 LHE

I get seated next to the most annoying player ever. He talks all effin night. At one point he is stuck $1400 or so and making calls to his bank to make sure he does not get charged $12 on some kind of money transfer he needs to enact to be able to withdraw more cash from his ATM account. He does this on a cell phone, with the whole table listening. One guy at the table describes him as worse then a woman and another guy continually out loud regrets having forgot his headphones. In short, the guy is a 50 year old ADD poster child. He has also been exposing his hole cards all night long. At some point, during the middle of a hand, a player across the table tells him "I can see your jack". ADD guy goes ape-crappy. Real bad. 5 minutes of him screaming, culminating in him telling another player "I'm gonna break your neck!".

Cashed out +$88.

Nice, and how appropriate considering their slogan is "LA's friendliest"!

Commerce - the slow motion train wreck that you can't resist watching. All parts interchangable, and replacable, and ocassionally underaged!

The Armenian that wanted me and my Latino kid friend heads on stakes two weeks ago, yesterday was my best buddy at Commerce because we were both busy busting the chops of a different Russian a*hole.

I don't think that mere words can give the Commerce experience true literary justice. LOL.

I have to agree about Commerce. Damn, I adore that place. Granted, I hate the jackpot drop, the no flop/still drop, the nonfree drinks, and the no drinks after 2AM thing (too used to Vegas), but the competition more then makes up for it.

Whenever we go to LA (usually about once a month) we stay at the Crowne Plaza there and I play all night, usually 3/6. Only at Commerce can one walk away consistently with several hundred profit from a 3/6 game fairly regularly (all from one or two pots).

In Vegas, capping it is infrequent at a 3/6, but at Commerce capping with 45s is standard. Wow. I was just there last week and I miss it already.

Nice read.
