Notifying the Fish

I haven't seen anything on here about this.

Shouldn't we be letting the fish know that other sites are still open? So far I've hardly seen anyone say a word at the tables. I mentioned it at a lot of tables today and many people are under the impression that online poker is over(?!), that's it's illegal now, etc. Some had never heard of Stars, but want to keep playing and are happy for the info.

So 2+2, what say you? Get the word out to your favorite fish that other options are still available (Stars, Full Tilt, etc). Bring it up in casual conversation at all your tables. So far it's a whole heap of 2+2ers that will be migrating, but if everyone says something we might get a few more coming across.

I have been thinking the same thing. All day its been "Holla - Pokerstars!!!" but in a way its bittersweet news because its just a bunch of 2+2 nits that are sharing this info and will be migrating en masse from Party. What I want is for the fish who have only ever played on party and don't post anywhere to also get the news.

yea, someone brought it up at one of my tables. i really think fish are clueless, totally clueless. I think a fair amount haven't heard of pokerstars, or wouldn't know if it was legit. there was one guy who said he couldn't keep playing after it was signed because he was an anesthesiologist and can't break the law..... and only one guy at the table seemed to know about pstars. through table talk i also learned that he was the only other winner at the table and had played for over a year. so take that for what its worth.

I was on Party last night and at 3 different tables I asked if the US players would all be moving to Stars. There was 3 or 4 US players on each table at the time and not one of them answered me.
At the time I just assumed they were either multi tabling and didn't see my question or just didn't like chat. But now I wonder if they hadn't heard the news and thought I was taking the piss!

Man, with their advertising I don't know how you can never hear of pokerstars--yikes!

Considering the .NET sites are not gambling sites you should still see ads, but i guess there might be a chance that some channels might not want to be loosely affiliated with a gambling site.

Re: Notifying the Fish

The problem goes beyond just 'notifying' the fish. Once they move, how do they get (more) money into thier Stars account? It's not as if losing players have thousands just sitting in a Neteller account.

They can no longer reload straight from thier checking accounts or credit cards (though most banks didn't allow cc before the bill was in the works). So how do we effictively keep the bad players playing?

I know we're all on the 'don't panic' kick, but it may be months before sites come up w/ an effective and legal solution to depositing money.
