25PLO river decision

Villain in this hand I have seen before, but no real reads, seems to play 4 tables like myself. I have yet to tangle with him in any meaningful pots. But I have notes "min bettor", which I have down on quite a few players on this particular network.

I don't have HH but from my memory.....
Hero is MP $36
CO is a SS
BTN has hero covered
Villain SB has hero covered

Folded to hero who is dealt A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]7 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]5 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
Hero raises to 0.75, CO, BTN, SB all call

Flop(3.25)
2 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]6 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
Villain checks
Hero bets 2.50
CO+BTN fold
Vil. calls
Turn (8.25)
7 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
Vil. checks
Hero bets 6.00
Vil. calls
River (20.25)
4 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
Vil. checks
Hero?

I'd prolly make a small vb here on this river & hope to be called by 2pair or something.

I'd go with the full pot, see if you can force out an unlikely chop or just get full value from a set or two pair.

Thanks for those responses, they were the two options as I saw them. I chose the small bet.
Hero Bets 12.00
Villain min raises to 24.00
Hero?

he has played T8 pretty weird here, so if he has it im going to pay him off

Re: 25PLO river decision

It would indeed be very strange for T8 to show up here. I will wait for (hopefully) some more opinions before I post results.

after your such low raise i probably call it

but if you potted and he miniraised its always crying fold for me

Just shove. You'll have like $4 behind after the call and 345 just got there.

When you make notes, it's good to indicate what certain bets mean. All 'min bettor' tells you is he min bets and minraises but it doesn't tell you when or why.

I just called, Villain showed
8 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]T [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]2 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]3 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

My notes are now a little more comprehensive on this one. Really strange play, but I see a lot of weird stuff. Not sure what's worse, calling the raise with that hand in the SB or smooth calling the turn with the nuts, and giving a flush draw a free card.

Anyway, it's always nice to make new friends.

Re: 25PLO river decision

I'll play the bad guy here. Why aren't we making a full psb on the turn? I understand that you have a nice str w/ redraw to the nutflush, but we don't want to really get cute here do we? If he calls our psb on the turn I don't mind a chx on the river at all. By betting an additioanl $2.25 on the turn can we save money on the river? NOTE: Certainly, this depends on villian checking the river as he did in the actual hand. Of course, if he leads on the river were calling, but otherwise check it down.
