Fulltime Players in Cape Town, South Africa?

I just moved to Cape Town, South Africa a few days ago and i'm struggling trying to find the best internet service.

Does anyone know any fulltime players that live in Cape Town?

What is Idi? Is that an internet company?

Do you play 40+ hours a week? Any problems with timing out ever? I've been playing at internet cafe's and getting alittle timing out and its frustrating. I talked to one internet company about ADSL for our apartment and they only allow you so much usage per month and can't even set it up for 28 days.
(is this normal?)

I just moved here directly from sweden to play winterball. Not sure when i'll be back home to the states.

This city is beautiful, i love the beaches and there are pretty hot women as well. I have only been here since Thursday so I still have alot to see and experience. Are you on myspace?

How about mobile internet. 3G Huawe modems are cheap and it should be easier to set up for a shorter time period.
ADSL in Sweden at least is harder to get for a shorter time because they have to set it up at your local tele station.

Good luck!

Its very normal, I just moved to the states but was a full time player in Cape town 3 months ago.

If I were you i'd just buy and iBurst USB modem from Hi-Fi corporation (find them all over cape town) it costs around R1700 and then just go with their month to month deal instead of taking a long ass contract. Its what I used to play with, you might have to buy a gig or 2 extra bandwidth a month but it'll be the best solution in your case. Pm me if you need to know anything else about CT or something

In Sweden it was great, we have wireless cable modem at our apartment and never had any problems for 6 months. Someone from our baseball club set it up and everything was grand.

Here it is alittle more difficult, but I found something month to month through telecom, alittle expensive but hopefully the quality is 100%.

The cards... we talked to several people that tried to sell us those, but it didn't seem like a very good deal. I had a 3G card through sprint in the states and it didn't compare to broadband.

I used to live in CT, bandwith in internet cafe's is terrible during daytime.
There are two SA specific online rooms, where you play in Rand's, pretty much the same as Swedish Kroner.

How are those sites? The Rand is doing better than the dollar... might be something to consider

On another note... did you ever play live in CT? I saw Grand West casino, but i couldn't find anything about an actual poker room.
