need some help, looking for some type of MP3 mixer/recorder DJprogram

cross post from Computer tech help, thought I might be more apt to find a DJ in OOT

got conned into providing music for a post Halloween Party (2nd Chance?) coming up this wkend and I d'led plenty of tunes but want to mix the dead spots out

- Is there a freeware type program that will let me

A) remix the several tracks of music into a wma./MP3 type file and play it that way

B)mix the music 'live' from 2 media players

sorry If this is the wrong forum, mods plz move/ban appropriately. I did actually google many forums and sites that seem to offer what I'm looking for for free or cheap- I was hoping some poster might be able to help me out in selecting a program that is simple and suits my needs.

any help is greatly appreciated, party is on Sat so I have some time work w/ the software

A) is far and away my first choice so I can enjoy said party

A few years ago I downloaded a DJ program called KraMixer. It was pretty good for this sort of stuff, and it was free. Back then, all you had to do was put the password "welcome" in a little box and you could bypass having to register for emusic.com or whatever it was. The program is still available now, but the newer versions install spyware on your computer. Still, if you are desperate enough for a free DJ program, then try it out.

For making a mix you might try Mixmeister, which is pretty much designed to do exactly what you're asking for. I don't know much about the demo features/cost but it's worth checking out.

I've got a freebie called 'ots turntables'. It would work for live mixing of songs, but wouldn't really be that great for proper beatmatching and all.

atomixmp3

you can manually mix it or have the program automix it. tons of sound effects and volume control, cues, etc. overall very recommended.

Atomix was decent for me as well. I eventually purchased Traktor which is pretty sweet.
