Tip Sharing at The Wynn

Dealers at the Wynn are gonna have to share their tips with their bosses starting Sept 1. Apparently a while back a whale left $500K of tippage behind and this left the supervisors green with envy and Steve Wynn got particularly annoyed. Guess Wynn can't get anybody to agree to become a supervisor 'cause of the paycut they have to take (RJ claims dealers make $100K vs $60K for supervisors).

Can't tell if this change applies to poker dealers.

poker dealers at the wynn don't pool tips. also the "bosses" in the poker room can and do receive tips directly.

Paragraph 5th from the bottom of the article:
The casino's poker room and slot machine area will not be affected by the changes.

100k for dealers is enough to make me vomit. No wonder public school teachers suck.

The funny thing about the articles is they keep quoting these "averages" that dealers at Wynn make per year. WTF?

April 05-Dec 05 doesn't equal a year and 2006 isn't over. There is no "yearly average" and it was no where near 100k for the 8 months they were open. But it's still stupid that Wynn now expects his dealers to pay his supervisors to now do less work. The pit clerks being brought in are picking up lots of the work the supervisors would normally do.

Dude,

April '05 to April '06 = 1 year.

That's enough to get a "yearly average".

It's great that there is all that money to go around and enrich so many people.

Since when are W2's and income reports based on anything except Jan 1 - Dec 31st in casino table games departments?

ALSO, that number in INSANELY scewed to the high side. They are taking the high limit dealers who are working many 12 hour days, 6 days a week and using that as the income figure for "average income" for the dealers.

No matter how much or little someone is making, telling someone you now are forced to give upwards of 20% of your income to someone else besides taxes is just not right. It's stealing IMHO.
