200NL - FD 3way pot, deep

Everest Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $1.00/$2.00 (HH Converter by Kreatief)

Reads: IR is a regular playing 17/15 after 1k hands. Positionally aware, but a little bit weak. BB is also a regular, 21/19 after 550 hands. We respect each others games. He has 4b me with air before, not really important for this hand.

CO ($192.00)
Button ($440.00) (Hero)
SB ($262.05)
BB ($197.00)
MP2 ($579.70)
MP3 ($178.95)

Preflop: Hero is Button with 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
MP2 raises to $7.00, 2 folds, Hero calls $7.00, 1 folds, BB calls $5.00,

Flop: 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] ( $22 )
BB checks, MP2 bets $20.00, Hero?

My standard play is to pitch it pre-flop, but 200BB deep I figured Axs was good enough to defend my button with. I'm not familiar playing 200BB deep, so this might not be very interesting.

What is the best action on the flop?

call and hope BB comes along

call is fine imo, don't want to raise and then have MP2 shove over us and not give us the odds to draw this deep, also, let's hope BB comes along

sounds ilke a sweet table...jk.

i hate deep stack poker...meh. my instinct is to say raise and fold to a push or a 3-bet. But I'd hate getting pushed off our draw, but I doubt he 3-bet less than a set this deep. if he calls the flop raise. I think we can double-barrel alot of turns and use our stack leverage to have the Villain be forced into push or fold mold. I'm not sure if this is necessarily good, but unless he has a set, I doubt once again that he's pushing on us.

The other line, would be to call the flop and raise a turn bet, but I think stacks are awkward for that. So go for the first plan.

definitely just call the flop because getting three bet really sucks this deep.

Definately call imo. If villain has a strong hand we're risking getting pushed off a great draw deep if we raise and if villain is weak we'll get the opportunity to take the pot away later anyway.

There were some bad players at the table.

I just called, but afterwards I wondered wheter calling turns my hand face up when I hit. Also getting squuezed by BB would suck, since I won't have FE afterwards.

Unfortunately for this thread the 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] hit on the turn and both villains c/f turn

given stack sizes. what's your plan on the turn when the villain bets the 3/4 - Pot on the turn? i think it's kinda awkward.

It's a tough spot indeed, but I don't think that justifies raising the flop because it has so many cons and I think most hands we fold out by raising the flop will check/fold the turn anyway given he's unlikely to 2nd barrel. So there's few benefits of raising the flop in terms of FE and it will put our strong draw in danger when villain's strong.

As long as you don't raise if he bets I think it's hard to mess up the hand on the turn, calling having 8 outs to the nuts and often 4 more good outs with 150bb behind will rarely be much of a mistake. I call 3/4 on the turn, it gets close to a fold if he pots.

I like to call, because it ensures that BB will come along with worse flush draws and that we won't get pushed off a good draw by a 3 bet.
