General overcard question
 

I know that this is probably hard to answer, but i'd really like to hear how you guys think about this.

What im wondering is this. You raise, with somethink like AK, and the you miss the flop.

Now, someone bets into you.

Im raising here alot. My reasoning for this is that i'll get a freecard, and i might have the best hand. But i dont really think further than that, which probably means im making alot of mistakes.

When do you peel, and when do you raise? Or do you never raise or never peel? What is it you look for to one or the other? Something with the board? Specific opponents?

Some clues would be nice. =)
