45 man turbo - playing AQ pre flop with a big-ish stack
 

This type of situation is one where I have difficulties.

6 people left in a 45 man turbo on Stars.

I have a decent stack, dealt AQ in middle position.

Two questions:
1) How's my line? (should this have been a PF push? I'm not convinced with my stack size, but I'd like other opinions.)

2) I raised 3 X BB, figuring I'd call a push. But then BB min raises me, and I'm not sure what to do. Call / Push or Fold?

With &lt;10bbs I open push this. As played, after committing almost 1/3 of your chips you should shove.

I'd be inclined to shove now if you intend to shove anyway after the flop. If you don't plan to shove, then call and see what the flop brings. At worst, you still have just under ~6000, within range of the other short stacks. Folding is too tight for my taste.

I hate everything about that raise. I think if you have a read you can fold this... Hardly ever do I see a raise at a ft of a sng45 that isnt all in... this has value written all over it...

With blinds and antes, and being that this is a turbo, I shove pre...

I agree. What's the range of that value raise? My gut tells me that I'm either slightly ahead, or a huge dog, against this guy. I win and I'm cruising into top 3. I lose &amp; I'm out. I fold and I'm a shortie. Is this the right time to take this chance?

I agree with most. You have an M of about 6.5 so you should be pushing with alot of hands here. You are fortunate to pick up a hand that is well above average so I would push and not be worried about what happens. You only have 3 people left behind you so more often that not, you pick up the $1800 in the pot and move on. When you do get called, you will be, at worst, a 3-1 dog, unless he has AA which is less likely with you holding an Ace. This is a long term value play for sure. As with most SNGs, you need to find a way to finish, at least, top 2 to really build your roll.
