let's face it, stealing the blinds is important (if and only if you play limit), and you're all of a sudden spending double the money to steal the same blinds..

no need to raise double the normal amount, just don't give people implied odds by not paying them off when they hit.

a worse player trying to stack you for 200BB by calling your raises with any 2 cos if implied is gonna get into alot of trouble as you can outplay him postflop

Dude, it's important in NL as well.

It's just that you are trying to balance several goals, and a pot-sized raise is a good practical way to do that in many/most situations.

this has been said essentially, but... u dont want to turn it into 100bb poker by opening double pot etc. b.c then you arent able to utilize ur huge postflop edge v. bad players w. a ton of monies behind.

on the other hand, if you know a particular fish is gonna call any size 3bet pf b.c he cant fold onces he has put money in until he sees what comes, it is cool that u make it really expensive.

Um, I think I did, if you look at my posts above. If you are wondering why blind stealing is important, I can't really give a convincing explanation without going into a bunch of pokertracker stats and such that I don't really feel like doing now.

I don't know if these need to be updated for today's games or if they apply less in deep stack games... but here are the seminal blind stealing 2p2 posts:

blind stealing is even more effective in deep games cos its harder to resteal because of implied odds.
