NL50 - QQ on KK7 board
Hello to everyone. I have been silent quite a while because I went to army about 3 months ago. Here I'm again trying to find my lost routines.
I don't have too many meaningful reads for this hand. On turn I was a bit lost. I don't know how to extract the max value and I need to be a bit cautious not to give my whole stack to trips. Also I think opponent may float sometimes on this flop so I could try to induce some bluff. He could as easily have a seven and some times he has trips or a jack. Should I increase my aggression after my opponent's little turn bet? How about betting a little over half pot on the river? Any bet by me after turn that faces a raise probably forces me to fold my hand because the opponent is not overly aggressive. I'm asking how would you play this hand against different type of players? How about against unknown? Metagame information: This hand is totally standard until turn. I have been raising some of my better hands if the opponent limps and usually continuation bet on the flop. Ongame converter Hero ($104.50) SB ($52.90) ANTES/BLINDS SB posts blind ($0.25), Hero posts blind ($0.50). PRE-FLOP : Hero has Qhttp://ms12321.googlepages.com/heart.gif Qhttp://ms12321.googlepages.com/diamond.gif SB calls $0.25, Hero bets $1, SB calls $1. FLOP: Khttp://ms12321.googlepages.com/spade.gif 7http://ms12321.googlepages.com/heart.gif Khttp://ms12321.googlepages.com/club.gif Hero bets $2.50, SB calls $2.50. TURN: Jhttp://ms12321.googlepages.com/spade.gif Hero checks, SB bets $2.50, Hero calls $2.50. RIVER: 5http://ms12321.googlepages.com/spade.gif Hero checks, SB checks. |

Bet the river .
You lose some value by checking unless he check-bets frequently . |

Re: NL50 - QQ on KK7 board
Well you should bet the same amount as if you had trip kings so as to remain inscrutable .
So if you would bet 60% of the pot with trips then that should be your bet . |
Re: NL50 - QQ on KK7 board
I think the hand was played fine mostly. I'd probably bet something small (say $4) on the river, to give him a chance to call with a J (or maybe a 7). There's not much that you can c/c that you can beat, except a bluff. You mentioned he could be floating, but I think a river bluff became much less likely when he bet the turn and you called.
Of course it's possible that he's got a K with a weak kicker, and wants to keep the pot size under control in case you've got AK/KQ/KJ or something. If this is the case, he's still going to bet the river if you check, but he probably won't raise if you bet. So if you c/c here, you're just letting him check behind a J (or 7) that he might call with, while still paying him off if he's got a K or flush. If he raises your river bet, you'll have to fold. |
Re: NL50 - QQ on KK7 board
raise to 1,5-2.5 preflop
you may even check flop, because there is no hands except Ax or 7x which call you here, but i bet it 75% of time (full pot or 2/3) if i bet flop, i check turn 60% of time and prepare to c/c river if i check flop i def pot turn and prob 2/3 pot river with intention to fold to reraise and sure, its totall opponent dependant |

[/ QUOTE ] hm shouldn't we bet like we have a bluff :P if villian is good and we bet the same way as when we have trips (if he bet trips/bluff the same it's ok... what in my opinion you should do) we would theoretical never get paied of so it would be ev- ^^ |
Re: NL50 - QQ on KK7 board
You should bet the same as if you had a 7 or trip kings or a number of other holdings . You don't want to get bluffed off the hand either if your value bets are different than your bluff bets .
