Curb 10/28
Totally ridiculous, but very well crafted and a few LOL moments. Suzie is amazing.

Dean.,
Please explain name change. |
Re: Curb 10/28
Rivals last week as the best episode to date for this season, and one of the better episodes in the entire series. Lots of really good bits and it all fit together really well. Great episode.

[/ QUOTE ] i thought the [censored] thing was easily explainable even though ppl were shouting him down. less plausible often equals less funny. still great though. |
Re: Curb 10/28
as usual: awesome. the doctor's house was ridiculous. not LOL funny, but really funny in a "jesus christ......ughgh" way.
i thought the cheryl montage was a little random, but reminded me of goodtimes so whatever. |

[/ QUOTE ] Yeah I know exactly what you mean, but I think you just have to go with it even if it isn't very realistic. I do agree that it is a lot funnier when the actions the characters take are logical. |
Re: Curb 10/28
Thought this was a great episode. Silly Larry.
|
Re: Curb 10/28
The doctors note was BIMO.
I love when the blacks move out and Leon says "That's a sexy ass Suzy" |
Re: Curb 10/28
excellent episode

Re: Curb 10/28
great episode
Personally, i'm getting tired of all these brothers and sisters around too. |
Re: Curb 10/28
Wait what happened to Cheryl? I don't really watch this show too often...I remember she was sick a few episodes back and then I missed last weeks.
Did she die? |
Re: Curb 10/28
She left Larry.
|
Re: Curb 10/28
Really good episode. The Cheryl montage was kinda cool in that it really did make me miss seeing her on the show. hope she's back soon.
|
Re: Curb 10/28
I didn't like last week as much as many of you.
I thought this one was really funny. Right up there with some of my fave's. The 300 lb hooker in the HOV lane to the Dodger game is probably my favorite all time. |

[/ QUOTE ] i liked the part where they showed her being stuck in the carwash outside of the car. [/ QUOTE ] As I recall she really had to pee, and Larry got the car stuck. Probably my single favorite incident was when Larry took care of the newspaper obituary for Cheryl's aunt, and had the typo of beloved aunt starting with a c instead of an a. |
Re: Curb 10/28
The writing for Vivica A. Fox is top-notch.
"Writing," for you nits. |
Re: Curb 10/28
I enjoy the occasional episode but I can't really get into this show. Feels to much like a Seinfeld spin-off, you could rename the show "Costanza" for god sakes.
For instance in this episode at the end when Larry is shaking his head and refusing to say the N word is just to much like when Jerry refused to eat his meal when the he knew the cook didn't wash his hands. |
Re: Curb 10/28
Someone told me yesterday that Larry David used to actually be involved with Seinfeld, not sure in what capacity. I found it pretty interesting.

Re: Curb 10/28
Very surprised at the reactions so far. I almost turned this one off somewhere close to the middle, seems I'm getting impatient with it, so much of the show was basically Larry retelling things that already happened/defending himself which is repetitive not only in the episode but for the whole show in general. I admit my preference is much more the everyday situation episodes though, not the implausible ones, sparing the rat dog ep.
Loved the Suzie comment from Leon though, as well as how the note played out and the uncomfortable Ben Stiller staredown. "MY WIFE USED TO BE THE SWEETEST PERSON YOU COULD MEET, NOW SHE'S TURNED INTO A WITCH!" |

But yea obviously there are gonna be parallels and some rehashed material. |
Re: Curb 10/28
Was the doctor the Oh!Henry Candy Bar heiress?

"MY WIFE USED TO BE THE SWEETEST PERSON YOU COULD MEET, NOW SHE'S TURNED INTO A WITCH!" [/ QUOTE ] Total agreement. Sure, I laughed here and there, but... Larry is a sociopathic megalomaniac, not an imbecile. He could certainly have explained that the N-word was used referentially. The doctor's house could have been done well, but as it was, it was just dumb. They bashed us over the head with it. Suzy guessing that it was Larry who offended the surgeon? Dumb. And the doctor shaving Jeff's head was just dumb. Then, to have him explain it so lamely...dumb. And the end? Just...dumb. I am sure it's not easy to balance plausibility and comedy, especially in L.D.'s world, but this was all just over the top a little more than I would hope for. |

Re: Curb 10/28
so is it her?

|
Re: Curb 10/28
Yes.
|
Re: Curb 10/28
She played in Desperate Housewives and is the one who killed herself in the early episodes.
|
Re: Curb 10/28
Wow I would have never recognized her as the braless wonder.
Larry is picking up some seriously hot older women, wonder how long Cheryl will be gone. |
Re: Curb 10/28
great ep, but with a very weak ending
also, they could have explained the head-shaving SO much better, simply by saying he got him confused with a brain surgery patient or something to that effect. it was just way too forced the way they did it. |
Re: Curb 10/28
Good, not great. They really failed with the ending...it could have been much better.
