Rake at PAris Casino is $6, Is it the same to other Harrah\'s casino?

this is rediculous, $6 rake for $3-$6 LHE, so if 2 players call, they are playing for nothing, my buddy told me that he played at Paris and the rake is unbelievably high.

First of all you need to understand how the rake is taken.

Even if the rake at Paris was $6 (and it is $5 but there is a $1 jackpot drop taken as well) that doesn't mean that the two players calling are playing for nothing.

In fact the rake is 10% of the pot up to the maximum of $5.

So if the two blinds in a $3-$6 play, the small blind completes and the BB checks -- the rake is $0 (zero)when the total pot gets to be $10 they take $1 for the rake (and $1 for the jackpot). The pot can not be at zero at that point.

Faulty premise, once your chips are in the pot they are no longer yours. The winner will get either $6 or $3 in case of a split. Plus I can't imagine it is the full $6 rake with no further action.

are most limit tables in vegas 10%? I'm interested in this thread because I was confused by 4/8 tables in california (oceans 11). They pull $4+$1 on any pot immediately when the flop hits (not 10%). They implement the blinds chop option. I couldn't fathom such a rake and moved to 8/16 where the rake the same $ so half the percentage.
how many casinos do the 4+1 immediatley on any flop pot?

None in vegas. NV gaming regulations don't allow a casino to take more than 10% rake.

NorCal takes $5 pre-flop if there is any action.

At Ballys in Atlantic City it is 10% with a $4 max. Plus a $1 jackpot charge from the no-limit tables once the pot goes past a certain amount (I'm not sure if it's $20 or $40).

Generally, if there are only 4 or fewer people at a table, the floor will allow the dealer to take only a 1/2 rake.

California is unusual in that, by law, the rake cannot vary with the pot size. In Nevada (and most other jurisdictions) rake is taken as a percentage of the pot, up to a cap amount. At Paris, this cap is apparently $5, which is high; most casinos in the market have a $4 cap for raked games. Additionally, Paris takes a $1 jackpot drop, which is not a true rake, as all dollars taken into the jackpot must be returned to players as payouts.

In the example you describe with two players heads-up, the full $5 would not be raked unless they got the pot size got to $50.

Dealer at Harrah's AC told me the new rule was $2 rake for a hand to be jackpot eligible, so that minimum pot threshold is $20.

As far as I know the rule was always $20 in AC. As the "legendary" story goes, when the jackpot was around $250,000 or so at Caesars (give or take $10,000) two friends were in the hand preflop and decided to check it down to each other.

They would have hit the bad beat -- aces full of jacks or better -- but didn't have $20 in the pot and were therefore ineligible. Missed out on a good chuck of money.
