quickie flop checkup
incredibly awesome loose passive 20/40 at borg.
4 limps, I complete SB with A4o (no spade), BB checks. Flop is Q53 monotone spades. I check, spazz BB (range here is any pair, draw) leads, 2 callers (both LP's). Do I call here closing the action? |
Re: quickie flop checkup
you're getting 9:1 and you have maximum clean outs and you are hugely vulnerable to reverse implied odds no matter how LP or bad your opponents are. Fold.

Re: quickie flop checkup
You don't have enough equity to draw even if threre were 2 spades on the board. And you almost never draw to a straight (especially isnside non-nut straight) when the flop is all one suit. It had to be capped 6 way preflop for this to be correct given the flop action.

Re: quickie flop checkup
3 clean outs + 2 good aces which might be worth 1 (or less) outs total - lots of redraws - implied odds which aren't terrible but not great = fold

Re: quickie flop checkup
it's pretty easy for you to already be up against a flush here

Re: quickie flop checkup
I don't have a degree in english... but if monotone still means all the cards on the board were spades... FOLD.

Re: quickie flop checkup
Calling here pretty awful IMO.
9-1 closing the action and you're PRAYING you have like 5 outs. You likely have between 0-3, and will still sometimes lose even if you get there on the turn. |
