aces 2/4 wpex

usual tight aggro opponent

hero dealt a [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]a [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] in the bb

folded to button who raises, I three bet he calls.

flop q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 3 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

hero bets villian calls.

turn 4 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

hero bets vilian raises hero calls.

river j [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

hero checks villian bets hero calls.

too passive?

meh, it feels a little passive but I can't find another good place to bet a bet in. I might donk the river, just to be sure another bet is going in and you might get raised with a worse hand. I think it's okay as is though.

Sometimes it's your post. Sometimes it's like this...

Can I fold anywhere here? Turn? When he raises the turn when is it NOT a flush! ??

One of the things that makes wpex so hard is that villian will bluff raise turn more than 10% of the time. He will also semibluff turn with As and probably Ks, and also any strong Q. He will also obviously raise sets, 2 pairs and the flush.

Does a promo like aces never lose also play into how many bets you will put in?

Yeah, if it's Wed-Sat, then your line is clearly the best. You never want to put yourself in a position on bonus day where you figure out that your aces are probably no good and want to fold (but can't because you're getting 50 bucks if you call).

Also, don't play 2/4 on a ANL day. 3/6 50 bucks free money man, come on.

and it seems like you're right jstill, unless i'm just missing something. there seems to be no downside to finding out if you're gonna lose... because you can't lose.

If you push small edges, you're not giving your opponents the chance to bluff/semibluff their worse hands against you. If some idiot wants to barrel the turn and river against you drawing dead, it's a disaster if you raise the turn and he folds. If the villain won't fire that third barrel when his semibluff doesn't hit, then I could see playing it more aggressively. But against alot of villains at WPEX, I think you need to give them a chance to bluff you.
