Hard plastic packaging

This is getting increasingly popular for small electronics. Think good headphones, small speakers, a wireless mouse, etc. The plastic is like glued shut and sealed on all sides and often the case is designed to be hung to a display wall.

HOW THE [censored] TO I OPEN THESE THINGS LIKE AN ADULT AND NOT LIKE A SPASTIC SERIAL KILLER APPLYING A KNIFE TO A VICTIM.

TIA

Scissors > Knife.

I bought something packaged like this last weekend that was perforated on the back to make for easy opening. I wish more electronics companies would follow suit.

OP,

There is a strong possibility that you are a 75 year old woman. This might help:

Very annoying packages, plus its awkward to return items in these packages since the package is absolutely destroyed. Perhaps this packaging discourages returns slightly? Unlikely I think.

Good link, but on principle I don't like having to pay another $21 to open something I just bought. DaveR is right, I'm sure it's a theft deterrent, but I find myself in my kitchen wrestling with these things with a sharp object in my hand, wondering if I'm going to accidentally stab myself before I get the goddamned thing open.

Yeah, what's SOP for that? I feel mean when I return this destroyed bag of plastic shards with my broken game controller. I also tend to cut up things like manuals when opening stuff like this.

Lol at the melodramatic use of a chainsaw to open a package in that commercial. Infomercials are awesome.
