Joel Zumaya out Again
 

This time, its an injury caused by helping out with the san diego wildfires. Last time it was playing guitar hero.

The Detroit Tigers today announced righthanded pitcher Joel Zumaya underwent surgery yesterday at the Scripps Clinic in San Diego. Zumaya had an AC joint reconstruction on his right shoulder, a procedure performed by Dr. Heinz Hoenecke and Dr. Jan Fronek. He was injured moving personal items during the California wildfires.

Zumaya will rest his shoulder for the next six weeks, before he will be able to begin an active rehabilitation program. He is expected to begin a strengthening program in three months and it is anticipated he will begin a throwing program in four months. The club is hopeful Zumaya will return to pitching at the mid-season point in 2008.

WOW!!! Huge blow to the Tigers.

did anyone else see this thread title,realize Guitar Hero 3 came out a couple days ago,and expect to see something relating to that?

muresan, once i heard of his injury, i too thought immediately of guitar hero, not sure who u can throw ur shoulder out playing it, but man, freaky things happen to this guy

Wow, I've never heard that Guitar Hero story. My roomate is playing my GH3 right now, and I just can't imagine throwing out your shoulder playing.

Wow, Zumaya hurt his shoulder while moving "items" at his home......More like Mr Zumaya was hurt while racing his YZF 450 at the imperial dunes on sat afternoon. I beleive it was about 2:30pm, when we ran into the mess while we were out riding. Z was placed in neck brace and strapped onto a back board and hauled away in a Medic-Rail. There was two rangers on the scene and just a handful of people. Moving Items, More like trying to out jump kid on a dirtbike.
