Hero?

Should I value bet this river? This is like the worst possible card I can see.

Re: Turned Set....value bet on river?

I'd bet a little more on this drawy flop.
Turn looks like something I used to do - trust me it's not a good idea. Just bet the turn strong. The board is too drawy to get fancy and risk giving a free card.
River is a bad card but I don't think we have many options here, either bet-fold or check-fold. Bet-calling is not an option because very little you beat will bet. I prefer a bet-fold, maybe $1.00.

qft, as far as river...bleh, terrible spot. if you think he could call with a 2p like hand then maybe it's a b/f situation. but tbh, i hate your hand against his range, and would usually be c/f'ing.

Check/call a small donkish bet and check/fold to heat. This board is way too coordinated to do anything out of line.

I c/c this river. I only fold to an overbet. The river card only helped a flush draw. If he has a straight, he already had it on the turn. You'll see any pair here a lot. People can't fold them.

Genz thats semi true, I think J10 can show up here. I c/c a reasonable bet and fold to a big one here.

The limit is the problem. Anything is possible here. Top set=nuts for me on this limit always. Period. I still c/c here, because I don't want to get into bad habits

Haha thats true, maybe I just run/play bad but I almost expect J10 to show up here and I get more shocked than anything else when I see it didnt.

this is so easy:

thread title: "value bet on river" = hero checked, it got checked through and he won against some weird pair.

I read g00t

i'd check call this unless it's a sickly massive overbet (happens a lot when 4 card straight on board and dude hits flush imo, standard).
