Why Pot Limit and not No Limit

Just wondering why the big bet version of Omaha is always Pot Limit and not No Limit. Thanks!

They have NL Omaha as freerolls on PS. It is ridiculous since people are hyperaggressive early since its a freeroll. Even if it weren't freerolls, NL is not the way Omaha should be played. The win % of hands preflop and postflop (before the turn and the river) are often close. You would see people who hit the nuts move all in and you would have a player with multiple draws call. NL Omaha is much more of a luck-based game IMO since players are risking all their chips frequently when the percentages are close. Personally I hate this version of Omaha. I find it to be a bit ridiculous.

I like Chucky's reason.

But I read that the game was originally played no limit when it was brought to vegas, but people went broke too fast and the games dried up. So pot limit was meant to keep them running and drawing fish longer i guess.

Pot limit is already enough of a lottery.
