Viking

It's on ESPN2 right now.

Japanese Obstacle course.

Kinda like MXC, but they seem to take it seriously.

It is awesome.

Why is it called Viking?

Is it like Takeshis Castle?

Re: Viking

I believe there was a thread earlier that claimed that Japanese people were really good at crazy.

I think that might explain why it's called Viking.

A more serious answer is that the obstacle course (very loosely) resembles a viking ship.

Man, the latest episode was great. I felt really bad for Nagano. He was only about 3 feet short of MAKING HISTORY!

Completely bored this afternoon, I actually found myself watching all three episodes of this. What I found funny is that every time the announcers (btw, is this not the Siberia of announcing gigs?) used the word "history" it just reminded me that I was watching something completely ridiculous whose history had not been explained at all. I mean, what the hell is "Viking"? Have they ever even done this goofy experiment before? Nagano may have been the first to conquer THE HEARTBREAKER, but had anyone even tried before him? Where are the answers to these questions?!
