Double barreling in this spot a leak? NL25

Poker Stars, $0.10/$0.25 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 4 Players
LeggoPoker.com - Hand History Converter

UTG: $7.40
BTN: $44.25
SB: $29.80
Hero (BB): $26.10

Pre-Flop: 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] dealt to Hero (BB)
2 folds, SB calls $0.15, Hero checks

Flop: ($0.50) 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 Players)
SB checks, <font color="red">Hero bets $0.50</font>, SB calls $0.50

Turn: ($1.50) 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 Players)
SB checks, Hero bets $1.25.

Villain is somewhat loose-passive. On flop, betting is standard I think. On the turn however, do you check behind or fire another barrel? and fold out an 8, T, or whatever draws he might have.

Also, if he calls the turn, what do we do on the river assuming he checks to us and it is a blank.

i think checking behind is a lot better in that situation. this guy isn't going to fold an ace, the 4s doesn't change the board, and you're ahead of some of the hands in this guys range, which he probably doesn't bet with if he misses.
