25NL - 99 vs. TAG

Villain is 18/12/4 multi-tabling TAG that attempts to steal blinds 22% and always c-bets when given the oppportunity. These reads are based on 150 hands.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (5 handed) Poker Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

MP (Villain) ($24.70)
Hero ($13)
SB ($30.70)
BB ($41.35)
UTG ($36.85)

Preflop: Hero is Button with 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
<font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, <font color="#CC3333">MP raises to $1</font>, Hero calls $1, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>.

Should I raise preflop? I didn't because he is pretty tight and since he is aggressive, calling eliminates a re-raise. Plus, I have odds to draw to a set.

Flop: ($2.35) J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">MP bets $1.5</font>

What is the best course of action and why? If I shouldn't fold, how much should I raise to?

I always call 1 street here, on a board like this if the turn blanks these tags rarely fire two barrells without and overpair or a jack, given the opportunity im betting the turn all day

4.75 I reckon. Worthwhile as you're going to take this pot often enough even if you are up against a J.

He's much more likely to have AJ or unpaired broadways than a set here. If you put yourself in villan's shoes, what are you doing here if you're raised OOP with TPTK on this board? Not necessarily an instacall everytime.

This makes sense actually. I think I'm a bit to aggro on the flop.

raise seems bad...youre turning your hand into a bluff as the worst hes going to continue with is a jack in most cases.

as its been repeated here (and butchered horribly by me)...if you think someone is bluffing, then keep calling

I'm sorry, I don't know. It shows up on PokerAce HUD while I play, but I'm not sure how to check it when I'm not playing.

I float alot in spots like this, hasnt been working too great recently, but it should work alot in general. Sooo many times a TAG will give up on turn assuming they dont have much. If he bets turn insta muck though.

Re: 25NL - 99 vs. TAG

When you float here and assume that villain checks on the turn, what size bet would be adequate?

Re: 25NL - 99 vs. TAG

you aren't floating, you probably have the best hand. Just call flop reeval turn.
