Villain is 23/19. Haven't played too many hands with him, but he seems to be a bit on the tight/passive side.

I might just b/f here. He shouldn't be raising worse if he's on the passive side, so I think we can be pretty confident that he has us beat if he raises.

c/c would be better if this board weren't so drawy. giving a free card here pretty much sucks.

Are we just worried about overcards hitting?

My thought is that most overcards will take a stab here rather than check behind. You can call, then lead turn to take it down.

There are way to many cards that can hit the turn that you don't want to see. If you think that you are ahead here enough that a stop-n-go is for value, then you really need to be playing this hand like an overpair and charging villain for any draws he might have. If you normally restrict yourself to c-betting no more that 1/2 pot in reraised flops, go ahead and bet $2.70. If you don't work with that restriction, I would put a full $5.40 in the pot now. You really don't want to get fancy on scary boards like this. In addition, betting hard at boards like this makes it a lot easier to get value in the future when villain has TP and you have something better.

My general rule is to not 3bet TT unless I know that I can bet/call a flop of this sort profitably.

What about a completely different line?....

With Villain tight passive, what about a call PF with intention to set mine / bet into a non-high card flop for the "steal" (may have the best hand)?

This: keeps the pot small before having to decide on committment (good for set mining), allows the villain to "give" info (if he is truely passive, on this flop he may check allowing hero to: bet and steal, bet and get cr'd where hero will fold safely, and if the villain calls, hero knows to be VERY CAREFUL).

As is, SPR is ~5...good for over-pair, but that assumes that villain does not have a better over-pair...I am not sure that assumption can be made on this hand. If hero just calls, that gives an SPR of ~13...the perfect place to be if you are going to thwart overcards.

Just a thought, but I believe a viable alternative...comments?
