Is this tournament a turbo? You may not see a better spot than 88 in late position in an unopened pot.

With the ante's your M is around 8.4, however this is discounted by the table now being short.

I'd just open shove preflop. You need the chips and you have a pretty good hand with FE around the bubble against the stacks of the players left to act.

i thought about that too, but open-pushing &gt;15bbs did not seem optimal to me...

that might be right, but open/folding with that stack-size isn't optimal as well.
