What is Matchplay?

like a shootout? is it a Heads up tournament? I found a structure on the stars site but it didn't answer my questions.

sick structure as well, can see this taking 2 hours per round at least until down to the final 16 ish

Yeah, when I read the title 'Matchplay' I wasn't sure either but when I saw the max number of entries(2048) I thought it was fairly obvious.

It's like golf.

Head's up single elimination, except instead of keeping track of chips you get a point for each hand you win. The player who gets the most points wins and goes on to the next round.

I just noticed that they renamed it to "Heads-Up".
